Mr. Mike’s Gourmet Foods:

Mr. Mike’s Gourmet Foods has a plant in Pinellas Park and a warehousing operation in another location in Pinellas Park.

1.      Redesign existing web site

    • Existing site was hosted on a virtual server using a shared IP configuration. There was intensive use of FLASH animation. This combination made the site unavailable to most search engine spiders.
      • The web site was moved to a new e-commerce enabled, SSL host and completely redesigned
        • A credit card gateway was enabled
        • A security certificate was purchased / issued.
        • The company inventory was entered into MIVA merchant
        • Third party modules were added to MIVA Merchant to improve functionality
          • Gift Certificate Module, etc…
        • The following companies were managed and coordinated in this effort.
          • Atlantic.Net, Miva, GeoTrust, Verisign,
Meta General, Viking Coders, ECHO Online, AW Registry.
      • The use of pay-per-click was too costly in this highly competitive area. ($2/entry)
        • Using Web Position Gold, an aggressive cross-linking campaign with other webmasters, and Microsoft's bCentral’s Banner Exchange, our SEO program began.
        • www.mrmikesfoods.com now has a competitive position on most search engines.

2.      MMGF was accepted by Home Shopping Network

    • An EDI system was installed in the warehouse and interfaced with the United Parcel Service / FedEx Shipping System
      • An IP-based, remote access service was set up to enable surveillance / operation of plant equipment from the administrative office.
      • This system reduced the rates, which UPS charged.

3.      The order entry / fulfillment process was streamlined to take advantage of the EDI system in concert with the WAN. Orders taken at the admin office, in St. Petersburg and packing lists / invoices are printed on the warehouse floor, in Pinellas Park, FL.

4.      Researched regulations to maintain compliance.

5.      Specified and ordered materials.

6.      While employed at MMGF, I received the State Of Florida’s “Food Safety Manager” certificate.

Lady Xanadu Charters, Inc.

Lady Xanadu Charters, Inc. leases a dock facility from the City Of St Petersburg on the causeway of The Pier.

The M.V. Lady Xanadu is a Pacemaker 46’ Fly Bridge.

    • Existing site was hosted on a virtual server using a shared IP configuration. There was intensive use of FLASH animation. This combination made the site unavailable to most search engine spiders.
      • The web site was moved to a new host and completely redesigned
        • This became an ongoing process as pages and images are added over several months.
        • Since the use of pay-per-click was not used for MMGF, the same strategies were used with LXC.
          • Using Web Position Gold, an aggressive cross-linking campaign with other webmasters, and MS bCentral’s Banner Exchange program, our SEO program began.
        • www.ladyxanadu.com now has a competitive position on most search engines.
    • A computer was installed on the Bridge to manage the GPS navigation system.
      • This system also interfaced with the entertainment system allowing the Captain to select music without leaving the helm station.
      • The logbook functions were also relegated to this machine.
    • A second computer, a laptop, was fitted with a PCMCIA cellular interface to enable Internet connection while underway. This system was used to access real-time Doppler weather radar information.
      • Both systems are viewable / operable from the Captain’s chair.
      • This greatly improved passenger comfort and operational safety.
    • While on charter, I was a uniformed member of the crew. I was responsible for passenger comfort and safety both while underway and docked.
    • Before and after charters I was often the sole person to clean the vessel, stock provisions, and setup / breakdown of equipment in coordination with caterers, bar and wait staff, clergy, and entertainers.

True North Systems, Inc.     Kenneth City, FL

During my employment here I worked under two different owners with two distinctly different management styles.

The first was a man and wife team, Ted & Sharon McDonald. Ted was an excellent printer repair specialist and had the “gift of gab” which made an excellent salesman. His skills as a PC tech were another story. My job was to spearhead the pc sales and repair departments as an independent contractor. Ted then taught me to repair many types of printers. (Laser, Dye-sublimation, and ink/photo jet.)

  • I introduced TNS to new suppliers for laptops, PCs, parts, and tech equipment. I also made TNS a Road Runner Reseller. I also brought the Atlantic.Net web hosting, and dial-up service reseller account. This account is still mine in this area.

  • TNS started doing networking for small – medium offices. This became quite a profit center. We also did several web sites for our customers.

The company was then sold to Todd Zadnik. Todd took complete control of all aspects of the business, making me an employee.

  • The showroom was upgraded to share the Road Runner across the systems on display.

  • A multi-camera, digital, internet-enabled, surveillance system, which is viewable on the company’s web site: www.truenorhsystems.net (This web site has been redone since I left, the cameras now have reduced on-line function.)

  • The technical services area was upgraded with new benches, equipment, and software.

    • Added streaming Windows Media content

    • Increased Search Engine Ranking

  • Designed  forms, letterheads & other stationary, signs

  • Maintain systems and train employees

  • Scanners, Cameras, Digital Audio Recorders

  • I added the mission to many on-line databases

  • This increased the number of donations & volunteers

  • I administered the Court ordered Community Service Program.

  • I made  databases to:

    • account for donations

    • log of volunteer hours.

    • track vehicle maintenance.

    • track the Food Basket Program.

  • I reduced mail room coasts by:

    • Using CASS certified mailing list software

    • Moving our mail account to a USPS Bulk Mail Center
